The Assembly Operator is responsible for assembling products or components in a manufacturing or production environment. This role involves working with various tools, machinery, and equipment to ensure products are assembled accurately and efficiently, meeting quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly of Components: Assemble parts or components into finished products according to specifications, drawings, or work instructions.
Quality Control: Inspect components and assembled products for defects or discrepancies, ensuring all assemblies meet quality standards.
Machine Operation: Operate various tools and machinery to assist with the assembly process, including manual and automated equipment.
Follow Procedures: Adhere to health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Troubleshooting: Identify and report any issues or malfunctions in machinery or assembly lines, assisting with basic troubleshooting and maintenance when required.
Documentation: Record and report on production data, including time, materials used, and any issues encountered during the assembly process.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other operators, technicians, and supervisors to meet production targets and resolve any issues that arise.
Continuous Improvement: Suggest and contribute to improvements in processes, efficiency, and product quality.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: Prior experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment is preferred, though training can be provided for entry-level positions.
Attention to Detail: Ability to work accurately and precisely, with a strong focus on quality control.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, perform manual tasks, and lift moderate weights.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery. Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical components may be an advantage.
Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying issues and resolving minor assembly or machine-related problems.
Communication: Good communication skills to work with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments.
Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety regulations, with the ability to follow safety protocols.
Desirable:
Qualifications: A relevant qualification in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field may be beneficial but not essential.
Certifications: Experience with lean manufacturing or quality systems (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO standards) is a plus.

Salary range: £24,000 – 28,000/year
