The Quality Inspector will be hands on ensuring all parts which come into Caudwell marine are checked in accordance with the correct sample plan. The correct checks are done and documented on the ERP system. In addition to this the role will include random audit samples of parts in stock and being the first point of contact for manufacturing in the event of a quality issue.
Main Responsibilities
Reviewing products and materials during manufacturing to ensure they meet company requirements
Measuring parts/components compared to their intended specifications
Ensuring parts are checked against test plan
Running quality tests and identifying defects
Inspecting and testing parts/components to determine their quality and durability
Ensuring that production processes comply with standards
Reporting on quality issues and managing records of inspections
Collaborating with the supply chain team to develop corrective actions for identified issues.
Ensuring KPIs are met for parts in QC-inspect and quarantine.
Ensuring ERP system is updated and accurate.
Carry out internal audits in line with ISO900.
Support with the continuous improvement and 5S activities.
Work closely with other teams like supply chain, engineering and procurement.
Previous Experience:
At least 5 years’ experience within an inspection team.
Understanding of continuous improvement tools and 5S.
Working with measuring equipment like vernier, micrometres, gauges etc.
At least 2 years in a ‘blue chip’ manufacturing / engineering organisation where ‘automotive level’ inspection processes and practices have been demonstrated
Ideally has also worked in a Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) and is able to demonstrate the ability to ‘roll their sleeves up’ and personally get things done as part of a small team

Primary location at our site in Coventry.
Flexible working, with primary hours being 9am to 5pm however candidate needs to be flexible and be able and willing to work outside normal hours when necessary
5-day week
Salary range: £35,000 - £40,000/annum - depending on background and experience
