The Asset Register feature integrates with your WorkSmarter account so you can easily track, manage and protect your company assets.

Managers with the correct permissions can create, assign and manage assets. Individual employees can access the Asset Register functionality if this permission is switched on, so that they can see their own asset details and know if an item is due for return.

Create a New Asset

1. From your WorkSmarter Account, go to the Services tab then select the Asset Register. 

2. Click the ‘New Asset’ button. Fill in the form to register your new asset with the name and a description. Specific notes can be added to the issuance later. 

3. Choose an icon to easily identify the asset category. 

4. Select which employee to issue the asset to. Once you’ve finished creating this asset, you can issue a version to other users either by clicking Issue Asset or do this later via the Edit Asset button. Employees with permission switched on can see their own asset details.  

5. Enter the serial number or unique identifier.

6. Use the calendar picker to enter the date of issue and the return date, if applicable. We’ll send an automatic reminder before your return date is due.

7. Click on the warranty button if this applies, and set its expiry date. You can also optionally set the date this asset was purchased.

8. Click ‘Create’ to save your asset. The details of all the assets created will appear in list form on the Asset Register screen. Manage, edit, add notes or delete from here. 

To Return an Asset 

1. Go to the Asset Register and select the asset you want, or enter a keyword into the search box.

2. Click on the asset then select the blue ‘Return’ button. Confirm you’re marking this asset as returned, or cancel. The asset will remain in your list, and can be re-issued as required. All returns will be detailed in your reports. 

To Generate a Report 

1. Go to the Reports Tab and select Data Exports.  

2. Go to the Asset Register section to download your management report: this lists all assets in the company's asset register with their details and all issuance history.
